{"id":2446,"date":"2013-04-19T14:05:47","date_gmt":"2013-04-19T13:05:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/?p=2446"},"modified":"2013-04-19T14:05:47","modified_gmt":"2013-04-19T13:05:47","slug":"communications-assistant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/2013\/04\/communications-assistant\/","title":{"rendered":"Communications Assistant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>JOB PROFILE \u2013 COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT (IP)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>We are seeking to recruit a Communications Assistant to join the McDonald\u2019s Europe Corporate Communications team based in Edgware Road, London.\u00a0 The successful candidate will work on a range of internal communications projects including the European Centre intranet, management communications and events and to a lesser extent on projects to support press office activities.\u00a0 This is an exciting opportunity for someone with good organisational and written skills who enjoys working in a busy environment and who has a strong interest in communications, including internal communications.<\/p>\n<p><b>Reports to<\/b>: Communications Director<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Purpose<\/b>: Primarily to support delivery of the internal communications\/events plan for McDonald\u2019s Europe with some involvement in external press office projects<\/p>\n<p><b>Principal Responsibilities:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support on-going management of the intranet, ensuring that key sections are up to date and proactively identifying opportunities to develop and improve the site<\/li>\n<li>Act as co-ordinator for the Corporate Relations team site on the intranet and manage access for communications teams from the 39 European markets including distribution lists etc.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure digital channels including online press office, internal \u2018media player\u2019 video site and European Style Guide are regularly updated in line with the plan and calendar<\/li>\n<li>Assist the team in the production (e.g. design) and distribution of management communications such as quarterly results, VP messages etc.<\/li>\n<li>Some support on larger events such as the annual European Centre meeting<\/li>\n<li>Drafting and writing of some content for internal comms and other projects as required<\/li>\n<li>Responsibility for managing updates to the team calendar\/news calendar and co-ordinating the monthly European Activity Summary report<\/li>\n<li>Meeting minutes\/co-ordination<\/li>\n<li>Support on sourcing images and other materials for senior management presentations etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Knowledge and experience<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">General skills <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good telephone manner and general communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Good attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work accurately and to tight deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Good standard of literacy required for the production of reports and written correspondence<\/li>\n<li>Strong administrative skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Technical Competence<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good understanding of Microsoft Office<\/li>\n<li>Good general PC\/IT literacy<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working on intranets\/websites or other online tools an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Good working knowledge and comfortable using social media\/social networks (Facebook, Twitter etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">To Apply<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Please send you Cover Letter, CV and Application Form to Micha Sussex at <a href=\"mailto:micha.sussex@eu.mcd.com\">micha.sussex@eu.mcd.com<\/a> with the subject header \u2018Communications Industrial Placement\u2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JOB PROFILE \u2013 COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT (IP) We are seeking to recruit a Communications Assistant to join the McDonald\u2019s Europe Corporate Communications team based in Edgware &hellip;
