Now, students are preparing to present their final solutions back to industry partners.

Designed to move beyond traditional case studies, the module places students at the centre of real business challenges set by partner organisations – Barrett’s Kent, Enterprise Mobility, Macknade, and Port of Dover. From developing marketing strategies and data frameworks to exploring digital transformation and AI-enabled solutions, students have been tackling complex, practical problems that demand creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.

Following the initial phase of defining acceptance criteria and aligning project scope with their clients, student teams have now taken their work further through face-to-face engagement with partner organisations. Site visits and in-person meetings have given students valuable insight into each business’s operations, challenges, and strategic priorities. These interactions have strengthened relationships, sharpened project direction, and allowed students to test and refine their ideas in a professional setting.

This stage of the module has been particularly important in bridging theory and practice. Engaging directly with stakeholders has not only enhanced students’ understanding of real organisational contexts, but also developed their confidence in communication, problem-solving, and consultancy-style working.

Now, as teams prepare to present their recommendations, the focus has shifted to delivering clear, impactful and commercially relevant solutions. Students are refining their analysis, strengthening their proposals, and ensuring their work aligns closely with the needs and expectations of their partner organisations.

For students, this is a defining opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned — working collaboratively, leading projects, and delivering tangible outcomes in a professional environment. For our partner organisations, it continues to provide fresh perspectives, innovative thinking, and access to emerging talent ready to make an impact.

As the module approaches its final stage, we look forward to seeing these ideas come to life in presentations that reflect both the depth of student engagement and the value of experiential learning in preparing the next generation of business leaders.

The Enterprise Mobility Challenge

Abi Lawrence – Project Leader.
BSc Marketing (Hons) with a Year in Industry

What inspired you to take part in the Business Challenge module?
“I’ve always enjoyed working on projects that have a real-world impact, so the Business Challenge really stood out to me.
