The event was one of a series of Master of Business Administration (MBA) guest lectures and designed to tie in with the theme of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.internationalwomensday.com\/\">International Women\u2019s Day 2024<\/a>, #InspiringInclusion.<\/p>\n<p>The event saw Kent\u2019s MBA Women in Leadership\u00a0Scholar,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/thekentmbacommunity\/2023\/10\/23\/varsha-nayak\/\">Varsha Nayak<\/a>\u00a0and MBA students,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/thekentmbacommunity\/2023\/10\/13\/thet-htar-nyein\/\">Thet Htar Nyein<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/thekentmbacommunity\/2024\/01\/12\/amir-shoaei\/\">Amir Shoaei<\/a>, appear alongside MBA Director,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kent-business-school\/people\/senior-leadership-team\/2401\/kemp-debbie\">Debbie Kemp<\/a>\u00a0to welcome a online global live audience, bringing together Kent Business School\u2019s community of MBA students, alumni, and the broader community of business leaders.<\/p>\n<p>The panel were joined by three guest speakers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kent MBA alumni, Morenike Ajayi MBE, Director of Corporate Services at Gravesend Churches Housing Association and Founder of Career Nuggets, whose services to race equality and inclusion were recognised in the Queen\u2019s New Year\u2019s Honours List 2022<\/li>\n<li>Kavitha Chahel, another Kent alumni and successful author and coach, who has worked in business development, marketing, business leadership and business strategy in the corporate, public and charitable sectors for 20 years. She is also a Non-Executive Director of ASHA projects, a charity that provides refuge to women and children fleeing from domestic violence<\/li>\n<li>Priscilla Chomba-Kinywa, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Greenpeace International with experience in technology and innovation spanning 20 years in Africa, Asia, Americas, Europe, the Middle East and the Pacific. She has also worked for UNICEF, the UN World Food Programme, Danish Church Aid and ActionAid International.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>MBA student, Thet Htar Nyein, said of the event, \u2018I\u2019m so grateful to have been a part of the International Women\u2019s Day event. The speakers\u2019 authenticity and vulnerability made their stories even more impactful. This event has reminded me of the importance of lifting others as we climb.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Guest speaker, Kavitha Chahel, said \u2018Thank you to the MBA students at Kent Business School for inviting me to be a guest lecturer on the topic of diversity and inclusion in leadership.
