Kent was represented by colleagues from the E-Learning<\/a>, Employability<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Library<\/a>\u00a0teams,\u00a0Kent Business School<\/a>, the Institute of Cyber Security for Society (iCSS)<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0School of Computing<\/a>. Matthew Bagura,\u00a0Kent Union<\/a>\u2018s Vice President Academic Experience, also gave a presentation on a student\u2019s perspective on the use of AI in education.\u00a0Professor Richard Reece<\/a>, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Education & Student Experience, provided the welcome and chaired the panel on AI in education.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The event closed with a fascinating demonstration of live piano versus AI improvisation\u00a0<\/b>by pianist\u00a0Dr Esther Fee Feichtner<\/a>, a performance that left its mark on student Warawan Jongthan, who said: \u2018I was very impressed by how musically talented the AI was. However, the pianist\u2019s emotional expression was beyond that of the AI.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n Dr Phil Anthony<\/a>, Head of Technology Enhanced Learning at the University, said: \u2018This was a really exciting event that brought together a community of over eight hundred curious students, staff and alums, both in-person and online, who actively participated in the many important discussions throughout the conference. To me, this conference really highlighted the shared passion of a community, eager to influence and shape the future of generative AI, rather than just imagining it.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n Student Thet Htar Nyein added: \u2018This event opened doors to a world of possibilities, and I can\u2019t wait to explore what\u2019s next.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n Missed out?
