{"id":20423,"date":"2023-05-02T13:58:01","date_gmt":"2023-05-02T12:58:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/?p=20423"},"modified":"2024-07-30T11:17:22","modified_gmt":"2024-07-30T10:17:22","slug":"kbs-alum-emay-enemokwu-joins-the-line-up-of-speakers-next-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/2023\/05\/kbs-alum-emay-enemokwu-joins-the-line-up-of-speakers-next-week\/","title":{"rendered":"KBS alum Emay Enemokwu joins the line up of speakers next week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Join us for our next MBA Guest Lecture Series event on Entrepreneurship and meet our third speaker, KBS alum Emay Enemokwu. <\/strong><strong>The event is taking place both in the MBA Suite in Sibson Building and via Zoom on Friday 12 May from 12.30 &#8211; 14.00 (BST).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Emay is the founder of London-based luxury streetwear brand, <a href=\"https:\/\/jehu-cal.com\/\">Jehucal<\/a>, who\u00a0has grown his business from a childhood dream to a global fashion brand that was invited to appear at London Fashion Week.<\/p>\n<p>Jehucal has collaborated with giant international brands including Nike, <a href=\"https:\/\/jehu-cal.com\/collections\/jehucal-x-chivas-regal\">Chivas Regal<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefa.com\/competitions\/thefacup\/emirates-fa-cup-presents\">Emirates FA Cup<\/a> but is firmly rooted in sustainability through its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.purifyproject.com\/\">Project Purify<\/a> work. The clothing and accessories label is worn by those with style, including famous names such as actor Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Arsenal football player, Emile Smith Rowe.<\/p>\n<p>With a determined plan to set up his own fashion label, Emay studied Accounting and Management at Kent Business School and graduated in 2019. He launched Jehucal &#8211; now a six-figure business &#8211; during his degree. He&#8217;s not just a fashion innovator, he was also a pioneer of Kent\u2019s \u2018Selfie Year&#8217; with support through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kent-business-school\/facilities\/aspire\">ASPIRE<\/a> (Accelerator Space for Innovation and Responsible Enterprise), which allows students to spend their Year in Industry developing their own business.<\/p>\n<p>He says: \u2018I\u2019m proud that I was able to leave an imprint on such a big establishment; a legacy for future students.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Emay is joining Harvard University Certified Consultant, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fifebanks.com\/\">Fife Banks<\/a> and Chartered Surveyor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kent-business-school\/news\/20202\/meet-property-expert-deborah-turner-at-our-next-mba-guest-lecture\">Deborah Turner<\/a> at this interactive event.
