{"id":17048,"date":"2022-09-28T11:40:19","date_gmt":"2022-09-28T10:40:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/?p=17048"},"modified":"2024-07-31T12:58:00","modified_gmt":"2024-07-31T11:58:00","slug":"professor-george-saridakis-delivers-workshop-on-research-writing-publishing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/2022\/09\/professor-george-saridakis-delivers-workshop-on-research-writing-publishing\/","title":{"rendered":"Professor George Saridakis delivers workshop on Research Writing and Publishing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Professor George Saridakis and Dr Yazid Abdullahi (University of Sharjah) delivered an online workshop on <em>Writing and Publishing Your Research<\/em> for the research students at UBD School of Business and Economics, Brunei Darussalam on the 26<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0of September 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop introduced research students to the challenges that they are likely to face while writing their research papers and subsequently when trying to publish these in academic journals. A number of aspects were covered during the workshop such as choosing a research topic, research collaboration, dealing with data and methodological questions, identifying the right journal for submission and dealing with the referees&#8217; reports.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/files\/2022\/09\/Picture_workshop.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17050\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/files\/2022\/09\/Picture_workshop.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"602\" height=\"283\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The event was an opportunity for doctoral candidates to learn about the challenges of publishing in academic journals, especially in terms of publishing in high quality peer reviewed journals.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Saridakis\u2019 said <em>\u201cI enjoyed delivering this workshop with Dr Abdullahi and being able to share our experience with the UBDSBE research students. Doing a PhD is a long journey indeed, with each piece of research produced expected to reach publication stage.
