A truly global gathering of Kent Business School (KBS) alumni came together virtually to share perspectives, experiences and learnings from the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
Hosted over two events, graduates connected across continents from Hong Kong and Australia to Angola and the United States.<\/p>\n
As well as coming together from around the world, alumni connected across the decade, with one KBS<\/a> graduate from 40 years before sharing the platform with those who graduated in 2019.<\/p>\n Sheyi Lisk-Carew, director at Oclas Group<\/a>, said: \u201cIn these COVID times, it can be tricky holding online meetings; however, KBS did an excellent job bringing us all together. To have a range of participants from different parts of the world, graduates from 1981 right through to 2019 says a lot about the schools’ passion for their alumni.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was indeed a very informative session and was good to see professionals share their views across sectors on the impact of COVID in their businesses. This was an excellent online session and I am glad I made the call.\u201d<\/p>\n James Lagdon, freelance content writer and data analyst, said: \u201cLovely to hear such diverse perspectives, particular from different countries! Glad to have joined.\u201d<\/p>\n Khawar Naveed Bhatti, MBA<\/a> alumnus and founder of GenSpec<\/a>, said: “In these times, it is more important than ever to learn from others to get different perspectives on the same issues. The alumni events are a great way (even if virtual) to connect with people with a wealth of experience.”<\/p>\n Public Affairs and Marketing Manager at the Hong Kong Sports Institute<\/a>, Rainnie Ip, said: \u201cI feel great to re-connect with the KBS family and learn of other graduates\u2019 career development. \u00a0The exchange gives participants more ideas on how to adapt to the new normal. \u00a0Thanks for organising and I look forward to e-meeting with more alumni in the near future!\u201d<\/p>\n
