{"id":14227,"date":"2019-02-22T11:13:43","date_gmt":"2019-02-22T11:13:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kent-business-matters\/?p=2848"},"modified":"2022-02-15T13:39:58","modified_gmt":"2022-02-15T13:39:58","slug":"year-in-industry-students-network-with-top-employers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/2019\/02\/year-in-industry-students-network-with-top-employers\/","title":{"rendered":"Year in Industry Students&#8217; Network with Top Employers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Kent Business School\u2019s Employability and Placements Team hosted a networking event for \u2018Year in Industry\u2019 students on Wednesday 20 February 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Kent Business School (KBS) students from both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/locations\/canterbury\/\">Canterbury<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/locations\/medway\/\">Medway<\/a> were invited to a networking event hosted by the Employability and Placements Team. Students heard from top employers in London and the South East about placement opportunities and why they should undertake their year in industry with them.<\/p>\n<p>Employers that attended the networking event included<strong>: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.randstad.co.uk\/\">Randstand<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.senatorgroup.co.uk\/\">Senator<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.etcvenues.co.uk\/\">etcvenues<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.morganstanley.com\/\">Morgan Stanley<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cummins.com\/\">Cummins<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.commaoil.com\/\">Moove Lubricants<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/churchdwight.com\/\">Church &amp; Dwight<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Most employers brought along their current placement students, many of who were KBS students completing their Year in Industry.<\/p>\n<p>An informal networking session rounded off the event, students were able to speak directly with the employers to find out further information and gain some valuable advice on applying.<\/p>\n<p>Feedback from both employers and students was extremely positive. Employers commented that the students they spoke with were strong candidates and hoped that they would apply.
