Hosted by Kent Business School and Summit partners (the Federation of Small Businesses, Institute of Directors and Locate in Kent), the event welcomes some 400 delegates each year to connect, collaborate and share best practice in developing a strong sustainable economic future for the region. Instead a free virtual business briefing will take place in January on 14 January.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>The briefing will feature speakers including:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Phil Eckersley, Bank of England Agent &#8211; T<\/strong><strong>he UK Economy:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Insights and trends for 2022 and beyond from the latest Bank of England Monetary Policy<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Kate Willard OBE, Thames Estuary Envoy<\/strong><em> &#8211; <\/em><strong>The role of Thames Estuary:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe UK\u2019s Green Growth Opportunity<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Councillor Roger Gough, Leader, Kent County Council<\/strong><em> &#8211; <\/em><strong>Delivering a sustainable economy:<\/strong><br \/>\nKent\u2019s horizon to 2030<\/p>\n<p>Whilst announcing the date move, the Summit partners pledge their commitment to maintaining the quality of the event.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Marian Garcia, Dean of Kent Business School, said: \u2018It<em> is with regret that we have decided to move the Summit to a later date for 2022, however with the current uncertainty over the risk that the Omicron variant poses and possible restrictions it is the best course of action.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2018We recognise that the Summit is highly regarded as a place where businesses can network and meet with key policy makers to have their say in creating a shared vision for the region\u2019s sustainable economic future, and we believe that these interactions work best in person.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2018Virtual platforms will always have a place in connecting us and as a space for sharing ideas, however we believe that to deliver a truly exceptional experience that it is worth delaying the Summit until the position regarding Covid-19 is clearer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2018We thank our sponsors, speakers and delegates for their continued support and commitment to the Summit and look forward to welcoming you to the Sibson building.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Further details about April\u2019s event will be shared in the New Year.
