Explore the Westgate Parks<\/h2>\n<p>The Westgate Parks are four unique green spaces (on St Peter&#8217;s St) open for everyone to walk around the riverside landscape full of wildlife and history. Stop along the way to relax in the numerous open picnic spaces along the river banks, or even take a short punting trip along the river with a group of friends.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prices: <\/strong>Free <em>or<\/em> for a group short punting trip- \u00a310 (minimum of 4 people)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours:<\/strong> Monday-Sunday (7:00am\u20136:00pm)<\/p>\n<h2>2. Visit Canterbury Heritage Museum<\/h2>\n<p>Learn more about Canterbury\u2019s history, explored through interactive displays in an amazing medieval building. Also, use the Free Digiguide Tour to see and listen to the stories of famous Canterbury characters, key artefacts and aspects of the building&#8217;s history. (Available in English, French, German and Japanese).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prices:<\/strong> \u00a36 per person<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours: <\/strong>Wednesday &#8211; Sunday (11:00am-5:00pm)<\/p>\n<h2>3. Check out Canterbury&#8217;s unique independent stores and caf\u00e9s<\/h2>\n<p>Visit The King\u2019s Mile where you can discover many of Canterbury\u2019s unique independent stores filled with all kinds of places to shop, eat and explore.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prices: <\/strong>Free<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours: <\/strong>Varies<\/p>\n<h2>4. Watch a musical at the theatre<\/h2>\n<p>Visit the local Marlowe Theatre to experience a wide variety of shows ranging from a live comedy show to well-known musicals such as Mamma Mia and Hairspray- or even the all-singing, all dancing romantic comedy\u2026Legally Blonde.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prices: <\/strong>Price start from \u00a39 per person<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours: <\/strong>Varies<\/p>\n<h2>5. Go for a bike ride<\/h2>\n<p>Despite the unpredictable British summertime weather, go out and explore the town while staying active.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prices:<\/strong> Free (if you use your own bike)<em> or<\/em> \u00a322 (if you book online at Kent Cycle Hire to rent a bike)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours: <\/strong>Go cycling whenever you like, varies on your booking<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Medway:<\/h1>\n<h2>1. Visit your local markets<\/h2>\n<p>Visit the weekly local markets such the Gillingham Market, Rochester Farmer\u2019s Market or Strood Market to interact with the locals and look at the fun and quirky stalls set up there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prices: <\/strong>Free<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours: <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitmedway.org\/destinations\/gillingham\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gillingham<\/a>\u00a0Market &#8211; every Monday and Saturday 9.30am-4.30pm<\/p>\n<p>Rochester\u2019s Farmer\u2019s Market- from 9:00am-1:00pm on the third Sunday of the month<\/p>\n<p>Strood Market &#8211; every Tuesday and Saturday 9.30am-3:00pm<\/p>\n<h2>2. Have a day out at a castle<\/h2>\n<p>Have an action-packed day out at the Rochester Castle exploring the grounds. Explore Riverside Country Park<\/h2>\n<p>It is one of Medway\u2019s most beautiful country parks open to the public and a fun way to stay active this summer as it is an ideal location for a walk, run or cycle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prices: <\/strong>Free<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours: <\/strong>All Day<\/p>\n<h2>4.\u00a0Step back in time at the Historic Dockyard Chatham<\/h2>\n<p>At the <a href=\"http:\/\/thedockyard.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Historic Dockyard Chatham<\/a>, step aboard the\u00a0Three Historic Warships\u00a0and Submarines to explore the world\u2019s most complete dockyard from the age of sail.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prices: <\/strong>\u00a319.50 per person<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours: <\/strong>Monday-Friday (10:00am-6:00pm)<\/p>\n<h2>5.Volunteering<\/h2>\n<p>Why not spend a weekend joining a Kent Community Action project.
