Kent Business School Outreach Department were delighted to have The North School in Ashford visit KBS this month, to inspire the minds of Year 12 Business Studies students.<\/p>\n
Outreach Officer Brendan Hammond welcomed The North School to KBS on Wednesday 3 November – which educates 1200 students – with a team of KBS colleagues and student ambassadors for an action-packed session and rounded off with a green-inspired business idea challenge.<\/p>\n
\u2018Drop Everything and Let\u2019s Get Down to Business\u2019 asked teams of students to come up with a business idea that incorporated a number of sustainability goals – such as responsible production and consumption and green energy, amongst others.<\/p>\n
The students produced a range of varied and exciting concepts but the sole <\/em>winner was an idea for ‘kinetic trainers’ \u00a0– shoes that, when worn, can charge everyday batteries.<\/p>\n Feedback from students showed their enthusiasm and engagement towards the visit:<\/p>\n “It was an amazing and fun course where I was able to let my creativity thrive. I learned a lot about Digital Marketing and it was informative and interesting,” – North School Student<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Brendan, who has led KBS’ outreach department for the past year was pleased with how the event was received by the sixth form students.<\/p>\n The Outreach Programme is a vital part in Kent Business School’s mission as it aims to support students and help them to consider that higher education is a viable and progressive option.
