{"id":11414,"date":"2021-07-07T18:06:12","date_gmt":"2021-07-07T17:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/?p=11414"},"modified":"2021-07-07T18:06:12","modified_gmt":"2021-07-07T17:06:12","slug":"dr-robinson-wins-uofk-research-innovation-community-prize","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/2021\/07\/dr-robinson-wins-uofk-research-innovation-community-prize\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr Robinson wins UofK Research &amp; Innovation Community Prize"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Kent Business School\u2019s Deputy Dean (Accreditations &#038; Medway) and Interim Head of Department for Leadership &#038; Management, Dr Catherine Robinson has been awarded the University\u2019s Research and\u00a0Innovation Community Prize 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The University\u2019s Research and Innovation Prizes 2021 are designed to celebrate the achievements of academic and professional services staff across a range of areas, and to highlight activities that have had a transformative effect, creating new knowledge, benefiting a particular community, and supporting others in the research and innovation ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>In her role of Academic Lead for Accreditations, Dr Robinson was commended for leading KBS through the EQUIS accreditation process, at a challenging time for both the business school as a whole and for her personally.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Paola Scaparra said: \u201c<em>Kate led the process with great professionalism and friendship, providing encouragement, support and expert guidance to all colleagues. Thanks to Kate\u2019s expert and kind leadership, the School was awarded EQUIS accreditation which places KBS\u00a0among the top 1% of \u2018triple crown\u2019 business schools worldwide.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOf particular relevance to this nomination is that\u00a0the EQUIS accreditation panel highlighted our R&amp;I successes as the main\u00a0area of excellence. The Peer Review Report states \u201cThe main strength of the\u00a0School\u00a0lies in its potential to combine research excellence with societal engagement and a strive to make a positive impact on society\u201d.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Catherine says: \u201c<em>I am delighted to be the recipient of this special award for community.\u00a0 2020\/21 has been so challenging for so many that to be recognised for bringing people together is an honour.\u00a0 I work with so many amazing colleagues and it is a testament to our ability to come together that I receive this on top of the Division\u2019s accreditation achievements.
