2020 Gender, Work and Organization Conference Keynote Speakers Confirmed

Launched in 1994, Gender, Work & Organization was the first journal to provide an arena dedicated to debate and analysis of gender relations, the organisation of gender and the gendering of organisations. The Gender, Work & Organization conference provides an international forum for debate and analysis of contemporary debates affecting gender studies.

The keynote speakers for the GWO 2020 conference at the University of Kent are as follows:

  • Professor Karen Lee Ashcraft, Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Department of Communication, University of Colorado, Boulder, USA
  • Professor David Knights, Distinguished Scholar, Lancaster University Management School, Lancaster University, UK
  • Professor Stella M. Nkomo, Professor in the Department of Human Resource Management, University of Pretoria, South Africa
  • Professor Nick Rumens, Professor of Business & Management, Oxford Brookes Business School, Oxford Brookes University, UK

Deadline for Submission of Abstracts has been extended: Friday 15 November 2019

Stream Lead: Dr Sideeq Mohammed, Kent Business School, University of Kent

In addition to the specialist streams running as part of GWO 2020 Conference at Kent, we will also be running an open stream. This is for submissions which explore issues related to the overall theme of the conference “Transforming Contexts, Transforming Selves: Gender in New Times” but which do not have an exact fit with the streams which have a particular research focus.

Abstracts

Abstracts of approximately 500 words (submitted directly to stream leaders, ONE page, WORD NOT PDF, single-spaced, excluding any references, no headers, footers or track changes) are invited by Friday 1st November 2019. Decisions on acceptance of abstracts will be made by stream leaders within one month and communicated to authors by Monday 2nd December 2019.  All contributions will be independently refereed.  Abstracts should include FULL contact details, including name, institutional affiliation, mailing address, and e-mail address. Abstracts should be emailed to S.Mohammed@kent.ac.uk.
