You need MFA!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Did you know&#8230;<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In order to access key services such as Kent email, Microsoft 365, Moodle, Student Data System and more on your personal devices, you <strong>must <\/strong>have\u202fmulti-factor authentication (MFA) set up.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Who does this apply to?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>All students and staff need to have MFA set up on their devices. With start of term we want to especially remind:<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/files\/2021\/07\/ms-signin-prompt.jpg\" alt=\"Screenshot of the prompt asking you to set up secondary authentication method\" width=\"284\" height=\"241\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><strong>New students arriving at Kent<\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Returning students with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">new<\/span> phone\/laptop etc<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>If you do not set up MFA on your device,<\/b> the the next time you try to log in to your kent email or other online Uni services, you\u2019ll see a prompt like this (see image to right &#8211;&gt;) asking you for more information.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>How to set up MFA?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol class=\"numbered-list\">\n<li><strong>Log In<\/strong>: Access any Kent online service (e.g., email, Microsoft 365, Moodle).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Choose &#8216;Microsoft Authenticator&#8217;<\/strong>: Select this app as your primary method (recommended!).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Set Up Backup Authentication<\/strong>: Add a secondary method like SMS or phone call to ensure access if your primary method is unavailable.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Follow On-Screen Instructions<\/strong>: Complete the setup by following the prompts provided.
