The University of Kent, Information Services and Kent Union are working together to celebrate 2024’s Black History Month.<\/span><\/p>\n

Check out our resources list,<\/a> featuring 120 books, films, websites, and classic and modern fiction and non-fiction, from all over the world which explore what it means to be Black both historically and in the world today.<\/p>\n

The theme this year is ‘Reclaiming Narratives’ and we have added a whole new exciting section on this for you to check out.<\/p>\n

Some of these books are available to borrow from the Templeman or the Drill Hall Libraries and will be on display throughout October, whilst others you will need to source yourself.<\/p>\n

If ebooks and audio books are more your bag then you can choose from our curated selection for Black History month via Libby<\/a><\/p>\n

This October, Kent Students’ Union is relaunching their dedicated Black History Month webpage with brand new content made for students, by students! The page features interviews with Black students and staff, a fully-stocked events calendar, and the invaluable BHM Curiosity Hub.<\/p>\n

The BHM Curiosity Hub highlights dozens of films, books, podcasts, public figures and more – all hand-picked by staff and students at Kent. There are also links to Black-led student groups as well as local schemes and services.<\/p>\n

Is a book missing? Students and staff members have the option to submit a reading suggestion via the \u2018Recommend a Book\u2019 form<\/a>.<\/p>\n
