{"id":25755,"date":"2024-05-30T11:04:37","date_gmt":"2024-05-30T10:04:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/?p=25755"},"modified":"2024-05-30T11:04:37","modified_gmt":"2024-05-30T10:04:37","slug":"librarysearch-enhancements-templeman-library-resource-terminals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/librarysearch-enhancements-templeman-library-resource-terminals\/","title":{"rendered":"LibrarySearch enhancements: Templeman Library Resource Terminals\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">As part of our ongoing improvements to LibrarySearch, and in response to student feedback, we have rolled out some enhancements to the Library Resource Terminals in the Templeman Library.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">When you use the terminals you may notice a change to the look and feel of the search result pages, but finding resources will work in <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the same<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> way, with a simple keyword search in a single search box.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The search results will now only display books, journals and other physical items in the Library &#8211; showing you their location in the building. E-resources won&#8217;t be displayed because you can&#8217;t access them from the terminal screens.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/files\/2024\/05\/librarysearch-books-search.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-25757\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/files\/2024\/05\/librarysearch-books-search.jpg\" alt=\"Screenshot showing searching results from LibrarySearch books\" width=\"1885\" height=\"992\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">All other versions of <a href=\"https:\/\/librarysearch.kent.ac.uk\/client\/en_GB\/kent\">LibrarySearch via the Library and IT website<\/a> will continue to search and display all our resources as normal &#8211; whether they are physical items in the building or digital.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-contrast=\"auto\">New service name: Find a book<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Based on student feedback, we will also be transitioning to a new name for the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> terminals, and we&#8217;ll be referring to them as <strong>Find a book <\/strong>kiosks in our signage and communications.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We\u2019ll keep improving<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We are committed to keep making improvements to LibrarySearch.
