{"id":20284,"date":"2023-08-16T09:24:27","date_gmt":"2023-08-16T08:24:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/?p=20284"},"modified":"2023-08-17T11:59:10","modified_gmt":"2023-08-17T10:59:10","slug":"get-the-most-out-of-study-in-the-templeman-library","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/get-the-most-out-of-study-in-the-templeman-library\/","title":{"rendered":"Get the most out of studying in the Templeman Library"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Share your Space<\/h2>\n<p>When you&#8217;re studying in the Templeman Library we have a\u00a0<a style=\"background-color: #ffffff\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/study-space-in-the-templeman-library\/\">wide range of spaces to meet your study requirements<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you&#8217;re looking for silent study or more relaxed options, please help to keep the Library a pleasant study environment where everyone can get their work done.<\/p>\n<p>Respect your fellow students: stay silent in a silent space and please set your phone to silent too, keeping your headphones down low.\u00a0Don\u2019t reserve study spaces for long periods of time &#8211; someone else may need it.<\/p>\n<h2>Take a break<\/h2>\n<p>Look after yourself and take regular study breaks &#8211; just because the Liibrary is 24\/7 doesn&#8217;t mean you have to be! Use <strong>Take a break<\/strong> on student PCs while you stretch your legs or grab a coffee:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Save your work<\/strong> and click on the <strong>Take a break<\/strong> app on the desktop to lock the PC for 20 minutes\n<ul>\n<li>it keeps your work and your account secure;<\/li>\n<li>and logs you out after 20 minutes to make sure PCs are freed up for others to use if left for too long.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Keep your valuables safe<\/h2>\n<p>When you&#8217;re in the Library, don&#8217;t leave your valuable items unattended: Always take your laptop and bag with you when you leave your desk.<\/p>\n<h2>Let us know any issues with the spaces<\/h2>\n<p>If you experience any problems when studying in the Library please let us know.<\/p>\n<p>If someone is disturbing you, or if a plug or lamp isn&#8217;t working, scan the QR code on the desks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/library-it\/opening-hours-and-support\/forms\/report-a-problem-in-the-templeman-library\">access the form<\/a>,\u00a0or speak to any member of staff and we&#8217;ll come and check it out. Staff regularly patrol the spaces.
