{"id":18132,"date":"2021-03-16T07:55:44","date_gmt":"2021-03-16T07:55:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/?p=18132"},"modified":"2023-08-17T12:32:18","modified_gmt":"2023-08-17T11:32:18","slug":"presenting-slides-in-a-meeting-in-microsoft-teams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/presenting-slides-in-a-meeting-in-microsoft-teams\/","title":{"rendered":"Presenting slides in a meeting in Microsoft Teams"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Present slides, see notes, see attendees and chat on one screen<\/h2>\n<p>To see your slides, slide deck and notes on your screen, alongside a view of your meeting attendees and the meeting chat, you need to <b>share a PowerPoint file within Teams instead of screen-sharing<\/b>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When in a Teams meeting, click\u00a0<strong>Share<\/strong>\u00a0from the control bar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-18147 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/files\/2021\/03\/share-up-arrow.png\" alt=\"Share button is an up arrow icon in the control bar\" width=\"525\" height=\"107\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use the <strong>option to browse to a Powerpoint file<\/strong>\u00a0to the right of the previews of any windows you have open<\/li>\n<li>Browse to a PowerPoint file on your device\u00a0and open it<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-18149 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/files\/2021\/03\/share-pptfile-screenshot-cropped.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1025\" height=\"460\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This shares the slides within Teams which means you get a full presenter view of your slides, and can also interact and respond to your attendees throughout the presentation if you wish.<\/p>\n<p>This is<strong> different from screen-sharing. <\/strong>When screen-sharing, your active window is not in Teams so you can&#8217;t see your attendees or the meeting chat.<\/p>\n<h2>On a small screen? Hide the notes and slide deck<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Click in the slide area and press &#8220;Ctrl+Shift+X&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>The notes and thumbnail strip should be closed<\/li>\n<li>Use the same keyboard shortcuts again to bring the &#8220;presenter view&#8221; back<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Emoji now available<\/h2>\n<p>People can now signify agreement with a thumbs up or a smiley face during a Teams meeting. When you share a PowerPoint file in Teams as explained above, you can see any &#8216;Reactions&#8217; from your audience as you present your slides. <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/give-someone-a-thumbs-up\/\">More about &#8216;Reactions&#8217;<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Allow others to present<\/h2>\n<p>Meeting attendees can\u2019t share their screen, share slides or mute others unless the meeting organiser allows this.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Start the meeting<\/li>\n<li>View the participants<\/li>\n<li>Click on the ellipses next to the name of the person you want to give access to<\/li>\n<li class=\"helperbird-editor medium-editor-element\" role=\"textbox\" data-medium-editor-element=\"true\" data-medium-editor-editor-index=\"1\">Make them a presenter from the popup menu<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>To allow everyon<\/b><strong>e\u00a0in the meeting to present<\/strong>: click the\u00a0<b>three elipses<\/b>\u00a0at the top of the meeting, select\u00a0<b>meeting details<\/b>, then\u00a0<b>meeting options<\/b>.
