The University of Kent has again been awarded Cyber Essentials (CE)<\/strong> certification, which means our procedures for protecting against online threats have been independently recognised for the third year running.<\/p>\n Cyber Essentials<\/a> is a Government-backed, industry-supported scheme to help organisations protect themselves against common online threats.<\/p>\n To get this independent verification we <\/span><\/span>showed that<\/span><\/span> we appropriately apply and manage a set of <\/span><\/span>five <\/span><\/span>security <\/span><\/span>controls<\/span><\/span>: <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Cyber Essentials certification should reassure our students and staff that<\/span> their data and the services <\/span>they<\/span> use are well protected<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n Kent<\/span> can demonstrate to our partners, customers and suppliers that <\/span>it<\/span> meet<\/span>s<\/span> a <\/span>national<\/span> standard for <\/span>Cyber security.<\/span> We can use the above logo to promote Kent\u2019s certification and if <\/span>necessary<\/span> we can direct requests for evidence to the online service:<\/a><\/span> searching for ‘<\/span>University of Kent’ will show our most recent certificate<\/a><\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Cloud services <\/span>are not covered<\/span> by Kent\u2019s<\/span> Cyber Essentials certification<\/span>.
