The\u00a0Library\u00a0<\/a>Team is part of Information Services<\/a>\u00a0and its collaboration with colleagues from a range of Schools and departments on the University\u2019s\u00a0accessibility project<\/strong>\u00a0OPERA\u00a0<\/a>and its\u00a0Student Success Project<\/a>\u00a0contributed significantly towards its success. Its\u00a0Collection Engagement Strategy<\/strong>, through which it connects with\u00a0local communities, alumni and other libraries<\/strong>, and the\u00a0Kent Book Club<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 created alongside\u00a0Kent Union<\/a>\u00a0for students<\/strong>\u00a0who want to discover new books and resources outside of their academic studies \u2013 also played an\u00a0important part<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The\u00a0judges<\/strong>\u00a0remarked on the team\u2019s\u00a0\u2018inventive collaboration\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0and its \u2018particularly noteworthy\u2019\u00a0innovation<\/strong>\u00a0in fostering co-created reading lists. They said the work was an example of \u2018collaborative working in the digital and physical environment\u2019 that sought to\u00a0\u2018transform\u2019 the\u00a0<\/strong>student experience<\/a>\u00a0by building inclusivity and diversity into learning and research.<\/p>\n Kent\u2019s Vice-Chancellor and President\u00a0Professor Karen Cox<\/a>\u00a0said: \u2018On behalf of all our\u00a0students\u00a0and staff\u00a0<\/strong>I would like to congratulate the team on winning this award. The work of Library colleagues is\u00a0inspiring<\/strong>\u00a0and the team should be rightly proud of this\u00a0tremendous achievement<\/strong>.\u2019<\/p>\n John Sotillo, Director of Information Services<\/strong>, added: \u2018I am absolutely delighted that the\u00a0professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm<\/strong>\u00a0of our staff has been recognised with this prestigious award.
