{"id":13223,"date":"2020-01-10T15:04:20","date_gmt":"2020-01-10T15:04:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/?p=13223"},"modified":"2023-12-11T12:48:54","modified_gmt":"2023-12-11T12:48:54","slug":"templeman-library-shortlisted-for-library-design-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/isnews\/templeman-library-shortlisted-for-library-design-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Templeman Library is a finalist for Library Design Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Templeman Library was awarded as a finalist in the &#8216;Medium and Large Libraries&#8217; category within the SCONUL Library Design Awards 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The Templeman Library sits at the heart of the Canterbury campus and has been transformed to become a flagship 21<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0century learning environment comprising a new extension and extensive refurbishment of the existing building, together demonstrating new standards for renewal of 1960\u2019s university buildings.<\/p>\n<p>The 5,400m<sup>2<\/sup>\u00a0extension provides a lecture theatre, seminar, exhibition, archive, conference, study and caf\u00e9 spaces. The building has received new welcome hall, windows and facade.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/2CEMegi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SCONUL Library Design Awards<\/a> showcase and celebrate the very best in recent academic library design in the UK and Ireland.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Templeman Library was awarded as a finalist in the &#8216;Medium and Large Libraries&#8217; category within the SCONUL Library Design Awards 2019.
