This considerably reduces the risk to University data if your device gets lost or hacked:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>iPhone or iPad:<\/strong> set a passcode if you haven\u2019t already.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mac:<\/strong> make sure Filevault is enabled.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Windows<\/strong> laptops\/tablets: enable Bitlocker.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Android:<\/strong> set a lockscreen pin code, and enable <strong>Encryption<\/strong> in <strong>Settings<\/strong>, under <strong>Security and Location<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Find <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/itservices\/secure\">IT safety and security advice on our website<\/a>, or from the provider of your mobile device\u2019s operating system (eg, Microsoft for Windows, Apple for MacOS and iOS, Google for Android and Chrome).<\/p>\n<p>On all your devices, you also need to check your check settings and make sure that you are getting automatic updates, and that your operating system is still supported.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.
