It’s a good idea to check the major databases occasionally to see how your publications are being displayed. Are all your outputs correctly linked to you? Are the affiliations correct? Are you happy with your author profile?
\nAlthough these things should happen automatically, mistakes do happen and may affect indicators such as citation counts. This, in turn, may influence representations of your academic output and assessments of your academic impact.

See our\u00a0Impact and Sharing web pages<\/a>\u00a0for background information and an introduction to the tools used to assess the academic impact of your work.<\/p>\n You may want to have a look at this video: Get started with Scopus\u00a0<\/sup><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n If your publication doesn’t appear to be available in Scopus, make a request for it to be added using the web form to Add a missing document<\/a>.<\/p>\n If an entry for a publication contains mistakes such as incorrect spelling, request corrections using the web form for a Document Correction<\/a>.<\/p>\n If some of your publications appear in Scopus but are not not listed under an Author search for your name, make a request for these to be added to your profile using the Author Feedback Wizard<\/a>. You can also use this if you find you have two author profiles in Scopus and wish to merge them.<\/p>\n If you wish to correct your name or affiliation in your Author Profile, make a request for an alteration using the web forms for an\u00a0Author Profile Correction.<\/a><\/p>\n Go to the ORCiD<\/a> website and enter your ORCiD number in the grey search box.\u00a0 You will be able to see your profile.\u00a0 Sign in, and you can edit your record using the link at the top.\u00a0 If you have forgotten your password, click the link and an option to reset will be sent to the email address you registered with.<\/p>\n If you have forgotten your ORCiD number, search for your name\u00a0in the grey search box at the top of your page. Click on the ORCiD number to see further details. From here you can edit your profile as above.\u00a0 If lots of versions of your name appear which may be you, click on each one until you find the profile which matches, and then log in as above.<\/p>\n If you don’t have an ORCiD follow the instructions on our webpag<\/a>e to register for one in Krimson.<\/p>\n If your ORCiD profile is incomplete or out of date:<\/p>\n This video ORCiD and Scopus: Manage your author profile<\/a> shows you how to add publications to your ORCiD profile from Scopus and link your Scopus profile to your ORCiD profile.<\/p>\n If you have problems accessing your ORCiD account use the contact form<\/a> to request help.<\/p>\n If your publication is not appearing in Web of Science use this Data Change request form<\/a>\u00a0to request for it to be added. Select “missing article” from the drop down list under “type of change”<\/p>\n To edit your profile and update your affiliation, select My Profile<\/strong> from the top let hand corner, then click on the pen symbol<\/strong> next to your name.<\/p>\n To add publications to your profile, select the + symbol<\/strong> in the grey bar at the top of your publication list. Select Add articles<\/strong>. This will generate a list from which you can select publications.<\/p>\n If your publication is not shown in the auto-generated list, you can add it manually, Click on the + symbol<\/strong> in the grey bar and select add article manually<\/strong>. Fill in the bibliographic details in the form.<\/p>\n To remove publications or edit them from your profile, click on the publication title to see the full details. Select the rubbish bin symbol<\/strong> to delete an item from your profile and the pen symbol<\/strong> to edit<\/p>\n By default Google will automatically link publications to your profile.
