Our VPN service, which provides off-campus access to selected resources, will soon be replaced with a new VPN.
What’s happening when
- From Wednesday 18 August staff and students will be invited to start using our new VPN
- On Thursday 9 September the existing VPN service (FortiClient) will stop working
- From Tuesday 14 September staff will need the new VPN to access SharePoint 2013 from off campus
Why we’re implementing these changes
The new VPN will allow us to enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) when you log into services. MFA adds an extra layer of security to your account, and is extremely effective in combatting online threats. We already use it when we access email, Staff Connect and other tools from off campus.
