Senate Postgraduate Study Hub – now open!

As a result of popular demand, the University is pleased to provide a dedicated Study Hub for postgraduates, based in the Senate building in Central Campus!

This bright and pleasant space features 39 PC spaces set out on large desks together with adjustable chairs, with plenty of room for laptops and books.

Take a break from studies in the soft-seated lounge area adjacent to the kitchen, fitted with fridge and microwave.

The Hub is opening 24/7, providing you with study space when you need it  – don’t forget your KentOne Card to gain access as it is for postgraduates only! Find it on Floor 1 of the Senate building. Between the hours of 18.00 – 08.00 the main entrance will also be via KentOne Card access.

  1. The study space is great for postgraduates, however most of the students reserve their places and i can’t find a free PC during the day although by using the “Find a free PC at Canterbury” i see quarter of total PCs are free.

    1. In using the Postgraduate Study Hub, we encourage students to not reserve seats / PCs for others and once they have finished using the PC they must take all of their belongings. The rules of the Hub are here: https://www.kent.ac.uk/graduateschool/pgstudyhub.html. Please contact the Graduate School (details in the Hub) if you experience further issues.

  2. Fantastic and much needed facility for PG students. But please could someone do something about the entrance door to the room – it continually bangs with people going in and out. Could something be done to make it close more gently so it causes less of a disturbance?

    1. Dear Siobhan

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, it’s great to hear the new study hub is useful for you. I have passed your feedback about the door onto the Graduate School who should be in contact soon.
