12.30 on 11 June: power outage announced

We’re experiencing a major power outage affecting our Cornwallis Data Centre. This affects most University IT systems including the Kent website, VPN, filestores, Moodle, SharePoint and SDS.

Some services are being restored but are still at risk of interruption at present as we continue to work on this.

Microsoft Teams and OneDrive are unaffected which may help you communicate and share files while other systems are down.

Email is mostly unaffected but you may not receive mail from external contacts at present. Kent mailing lists are affected which is why our student and staff emails may not have reached you.

We’re working hard to resolve this issue. Please bear with us, we’ll post updates as soon as we know more.
