More about this resource

Worldwide Political Science Abstracts is an index and abstract database allowing you to discover international literature on politics and international relations. As a subject specific database your results will be written by other scholars within this academic field and includes abstracts of journal articles and citations, book reviews and book chapters, dissertations and working papers. Coverage includes from 1975 to present.

Why use this resource

As the database only includes politics and related disciplines your search results will be a lot more focused than LibrarySearch or a general database such as Google Scholar or Scopus.  Whilst you should be able to access the full text of the majority of the results through the Library’s subscriptions some of the articles and resources may not be available – however it maybe that you can source these from elsewhere so if you find results that you can’t access please contact your liaison librarian. In this way the database can help you find information beyond the library collection.

Additional features to help you search for relevant literature include

  • A link to the references so you can quickly find the material they used to build their argument
  • Providing citations linking you to research that has referenced this work.
  • Subject thesaurus to help you refine your keywords
  • Search alerts enabling you to be notified when new material on your topic is published within the database.
