Microsoft have announced some updates to Teams that we know a lot of you have been asking for, so we thought we’d share them with you hot off the press!
3 x 3 meeting view
You will be able see up to 9 people at once in a virtual meeting. This brings Teams more in line with the views available in other video chat programmes.
The layout of your meetings will adapt automatically based on the number of participants. In meetings with more than 9 people, Teams will show you the people who have spoken most recently, just like it does with the 4 person set-up.
Raise your hand
Raise your hand if you’ve ever accidentally interrupted someone in an online meeting because you thought they’d finished talking? Raise your hand if you’ve missed an opportunity to get your point across because you’ve been waiting for the right moment to chip in.
Click the new ‘raise your hand’ button on the meeting menu bar to let others know that you’re waiting to say something. This feature is also useful to give you a consensus from a group, for example ‘raise your hand if you agree’.
We are unsure at the moment whether this feature will be available on the mobile app. We’ll update when we know more.
