As we enter a new decade, why not try something new…
Throughout this January we have a number of promotions and activities to help you get plenty out of 2020!
‘New decade, new goals’ book display
Check out the display in the Library Café throughout January that will promote a number of useful titles to help you get the maximum out of your study. This will include a focus on reference management and Mendeley – a tool that will help you save time and get organised.
Student Learning Advisory Service (SLAS) stand – Referencing/study support drop-in’s
There will be a stand from SLAS with resources to help you in your research for assignments (for both undergraduates and postgraduates) plus referencing. Student Learning Advisers will be available in the Library Café on the following dates throughout January:
14 – 17 / 21- 24 / 27- 31 January 12:00 -13:00
Mendeley Referencing drop-in session
These introductory sessions provide an introduction to Mendeley, a freely available application which enables you to manage and automatically cite references and produce a bibliography, and allows online citation sharing with a research community. The sessions will include a hands-on exploration of Mendeley. The aim of these sessions is to introduce the features of Mendeley. They cover creating a Mendeley account, adding references and full text documents to that account and organising and managing those references. They also look at using Mendeley with Word, inserting references and generating a bibliography in a citation style of your choice. This is a practical session, giving attendees the opportunity to create and work with their own Mendeley account.
