Library emails sent in error: ‘Return these library items’

If you have received an email like this, with an empty box below the text ‘You need to return the items below by their due dates’ you don’t have to do anything.

The message was sent in error by our library management system to everyone who has any library items on loan.

If there are items listed in the box, you do need to return them by their due dates. To double-check, you can log into your account in LibrarySearch and try to renew your items. Any items you can’t renew are genuinely due and have to be returned.

Why did this happen?

We have recently redesigned and rewritten our library email notices to make them easier to use and understand. Unfortunately, a glitch in the system last night sent out these notices by mistake. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
