LibKey Nomad

Get one-click access to articles and ebooks wherever you are!

LibKey Nomad is a browser extension that delivers one-click access to the full-text articles of library-subscribed journals and open access journals .

    • access articles directly from search results or non-paywalled databases like PubMed, without needing to go through Library Search or sign into journal websites to gain access
    • especially useful when you are working remotely or not connected to the College network
    • it saves you time because it takes you directly to resource and you’ll only login once.

Installing LibKey Nomad

We strongly recommend you read the Privacy policy of this, and any other third party apps before downloading to your browser.

  1. Go to the LibKey Nomad download page
  2. Choose your browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Brave and Vivaldi)
  3. Once installed, open LibKey from your browser and select University of Kent  to link it to our collections and subscriptions

 

Using LibKey Nomad

The LibKey Nomad button will now appear at the side of your browser when you find a journal article. If the article is accessible by our library subscription or open access, you can instantly download the PDF or click through to the article.

If the article you searched for is not available the Access Options button will appear and direct you to further options for obtaining a copy.

Whats more if an article has been retracted for any reason LibKey Nomad will alert you so you don’t  reference this in your research.

You’ll also notice the LibKey Nomad button in other search engines such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Wikipedia and many more as we integrate this tool more widely.
