Andor Gomme display celebrates new Architecture collection in the Templeman Library

Andor Gomme Collection: Architectural Tour of Europe including five book covers from collection

A rich collection of printed material covering many aspects of architectural history is now available to discover in the Templeman Library.

Andor Gomme Collection book display shelvesThe collection was donated by Susan Gomme and family to the Kent School of Architecture, Design and Planning.  Austin Harvey Gomme (1930-2008), known as Andor, was Professor of English Literature and Architectural History at Keele University. He wrote a number of works on architectural history and from 1988-1991 was Chair of the Society of Architectural Historians.

The collection spans British and European architectural history and features titles on prominent architects, structures and buildings and architectural design and styles.

We also invite you to help build our own architectural map of Europe – share your favourite architectural structures and buildings in Europe and help celebrate the richness and diversity of architecural design and styles across the continent.

Browse the collection digitally

To browse the collection, go to LibrarySearch, enter Andor Gomme collection into the search box and click on Search. When the results are displayed, select Templeman Library from the filters on the left of the page to view all the titles held on the open shelves.
