A scheduled HV Transformer Shutdown is taking place in Templeman Library on Saturday, 4 January 2025.
What does this mean?
A HV (High Voltage) Transformer Shutdown means that the power supply to the building will be temporarily turned off for maintenance or repair work on the electrical equipment that controls the power coming into the building. This is necessary to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the electrical system.
To allow for this shutdown, Templeman Library will be closed for the entire day on Saturday 4th January 2025. We will reopen and resume scheduled opening times on Sunday, 5 January 2025. The work is being managed by Commercials Services & Estates and is necessary to ensure the ongoing maintenance and safety of the library’s electrical systems.
What do I need to do?
If you plan to be in the library on Thursday, 2 January or Friday, 3 January, please ensure that you turn off your computers and back up your work at the end of the day. This precaution is important as we prepare for the full power shutdown scheduled for Saturday morning. We want to ensure that all your work is saved and no data is lost during the temporary outage.
