Kent is now participating in JISC’s American Psychological Association OA Publishing Pilot for articles accepted for publication between 1 August 2022 – 31 July 2023
This means that you can publish Open Access in 88 APA hybrid journals without having to apply separately for Open Access Article Processing Charge (APC) funding.
You need to
- be the corresponding author
- affiliate as Kent and use a Kent email address from the beginning
- use a CC BY licence to publish

This APA agreement is a one-off publishing pilot and not a full Read and Publish agreement. We continue to subscribe to the PsychInfo “read” element as a separate payment. JISC’s aim is to combine the Read and Publish elements into the next agreement for 2024 onwards.
A UK-wide cap of 354 articles has been set for the sector.
