The School of Computing Medway and School of Sport and Exercise Sciences will be based in Canterbury from September 2021. For students that are continuing it is important to get to know your new library site.

Finding books

Books have been moved over the summer and you can access these items via LibrarySearch.

LibrarySearch tells you the exact location of each book on the open shelves.

Look for “Find it on the shelf” on the search results page, which tells you the Block, Floor, and Row number. Once you’ve found the Row, look at the classmark.

The Templeman Library use a different classmark scheme to Drill Hall Library so these might look different to you.

There are touchscreens around the building that will help you find your books on the shelf as well as signage throughout the building.

The reading lists for your modules are online. These link straight to the essential and recommended resources for the module, in LibrarySearch or elsewhere on the web.  You can also view your reading lists in Moodle.

Finding your way around

As well as books and print journals for your studies there are a variety of study spaces and facilities that you can use in the Templeman Library.

Use a map of the library for physical collections and what’s on each floor for, Computing and Sports & Exercise sciences.

You can also try our Actionbound – Templeman trail as you walk around the building to help familiarise you with the space.

Finding digital resources

You will have access to all the same quality, digital resources that you had at Drill Hall. Access all of these via our digital library gateway or use the subject guides for Computing or Sport and Exercise Sciences to find recommended digital resources for your specific area of study.

We also have an additional 500 ebooks for 2021/2022, to ease the change in your study location and support remote learning.

If you are working remotely, then why not come to our Working Smart Online Webinar Sept 22 for an introduction to tools and strategies to get off to a flying start.
