APCs in Royal Society of Chemistry journals

No more free APC vouchers

The Royal Society of Chemistry “Gold for Gold” voucher scheme ends in March 2017. This means that you will no longer be given the option at the University of Kent to make your article Gold Open Access for “free” when you are completing your agreement to publish with the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).
This scheme was part of a national agreement negotiated by JISC. It meant that APC costs for Kent authors were included as part of the library’s subscription package to RSC journals. JISC has not been able to reach agreement with RSC on the renewal of a similar deal.

What to do instead

The University has funds for APCS. You are welcome to apply if:

your work is funded by a member of Research Councils UK (RCUK)
