Optical reservoir computing is a brain-inspired computing approach that exploits the high speed and parallel-processing capabilities of light for the analysis of complex signals and data.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-132\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/ipc\/files\/2026\/06\/43911c6e-70e9-45e7-9e5c-3a19dec5a5ff.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"710\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Tianxiang\u2019s research explores the development of an all-optical read-out system for optical reservoir computing. By reducing reliance on conventional electronic signal processing, this work has the potential to support faster and more energy-efficient computing and signal-processing systems.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The Annual Postgraduate Research Conference brings together postgraduate researchers from across the University of Kent to present their work, exchange ideas and develop interdisciplinary connections. Tianxiang\u2019s plenary presentation provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the IPC group&#8217;s research in optical intelligent computing to the wider University research community.<\/p>\n<p>Tianxiang is undertaking his PhD under the supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/research.kent.ac.uk\/ipc\/person\/chao-wang\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr Chao Wang<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to Tianxiang on delivering the plenary presentation and representing the School at this important postgraduate research event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PhD student Mr Tianxiang Luan\u00a0delivered a plenary presentation at the University of Kent\u00a0Annual Postgraduate Research Conference, representing the School of Engineering, Mathematics and Physics.
