Dr Lijuan Wang attended MeSSAC conference

Dr Lijuan Wang and Prof Adrian Podoleanu from the Applied Optics Group attended Measurement, Sensor Systems and Applications Conference (MeSSAC), 17-20 August 2025, Beihang University, Hangzhou, China.

MeSSAC 2025, organised by Elsevier, is an interdisciplinary international conference gathering novel contributions and advancements of the state-of-the-art in all knowledge domains related to sensors, sensory systems, metrology, instrumentation, and measurement.

Dr Lijuan Wang presented the following three research papers and received ‘Best Oral Presentation Award’. Congratulations!

· Slurry flow measurement using a Coriolis flowmeter incorporating an acoustic emission sensor (Authors: Wasif Shafaet Chowdhury, Yong Yan, Lijuan Wang, Jinyu Liu, Marc-Antony Coster-Chevalie)

· Enhancing identification accuracy of contaminated plastics using spectral analysis and deep learning techniques (Authors: Uche Ejiofor, Lijuan Wang)

· Measurement of moisture content in cardboard bales through capacitive sensing, weighing and data driven modelling (Authors: Dayang Wang, Lijuan Wang, Yong Yan)
