Prof Alex Hughes, PVC External, led a delegation representing International Development, the University of Kent at Brussels, the Graduate School, and the Schools of Economics, Biosciences, and Politics and International Relations.<\/p>\n<p>The Kent delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Frank Bremmer, Marburg\u2019s Vice President and held discussions with colleagues from Marburg representing English and Computational Linguistics, Finance and Banking, Social Psychology, Peace and Conflict Studies, Comparative Politics, International Development Studies, Faculty of Biology, Office for Early Career Researchers and the International Office.<\/p>\n<p>Kent and Marburg have enjoyed a long and fruitful partnership dating back to 1983 and have developed a range of collaborative activities including staff and student exchanges in a number of subjects, joint research projects, and a dual MA in Peace and Conflict Studies.<\/p>\n<p>This meeting focused on areas currently being developed such as more joint programmes at master\u2019s level, joint research proposals, joint doctoral and postdoctoral training and cooperation in Quality Assurance.<\/p>\n<p>Philipps-Universit\u00e4t Marburg is a large university of some 23,000 students and the world\u2019s oldest protestant university. Founded in 1527, it has a strong reputation for its teaching, research and European and international activities.
