The University of Kent has long-standing partnerships and collaborative links covering teaching and research with a large number of prestigious European and International Higher Education Institutions.\u00a0We value our relationships and welcome visits from our partner universities and other institutions wishing to develop future links.<\/p>\n

Over the past few months alone, Kent has been pleased\u00a0to welcome visitors and international partners from across the globe to our Canterbury campus.<\/p>\n

Included among this summer\u2019s visitors was\u00a0Vladimir Jiranek, Professor in Oenology at the University of Adelaide (Australia), who met with several senior colleagues during his visit in late June.\u00a0Dr Anthony Manning, Dean of Internationalisation, noted\u00a0\u201cHaving visited the University of Adelaide earlier this year, it was fantastic to now\u00a0welcome Vladimir to Kent, to introduce him to the developing wine industry of the region, and to spend time discussing the promising partnership opportunities between our institutions\u201d.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the University was pleased to welcome a delegation from partner institution Thammasat University (Thailand). The delegation included the Rector and several senior colleagues, with whom Kent peers enjoyed\u00a0excellent discussions on\u00a0developing further\u00a0collaboration between the two institutions.<\/p>\n

Director for International Partnerships, Hannah McNorton said, \u201cWe were delighted to welcome our visitors from Thammasat University. With potential areas of collaboration across a number of our schools and faculties, we are confident that these discussions will be of great value as we continue developing our partnership with this leading institution in Thailand\u201d.<\/p>\n

Also in July, Dr\u00a0Afam Icha-Ituma, Director of Internationalisation, Linkages, Advancement and Global Ranking
\nfrom the\u00a0Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo (FUNAI) visited us in Canterbury in order to explore the development of links for research degrees and capacity building in academic practice. This was in response to a recent delegation led by Dean of Internationalisation, Dr Manning, to Lagos in May<\/a> this year.<\/p>\n

Most recently, the University welcomed\u00a0Prof Tang Ningyu, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, SJTU, (China), who visited Kent on 24th July.\u00a0During her stay Prof. Tang met with staff from Kent\u2019s International Partnerships and International Recruitment Directorates as well as Senior Lecturer in Actuarial Science,\u00a0Mark Heller<\/a>, from Kent\u2019s School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science. It was a successful visit, with the added benefit of knowing continued discussions would take place with Dr. Manning currently paying a reciprocal visit to SJTU\u00a0this week.<\/p>\n
