{"id":624,"date":"2017-04-27T17:30:24","date_gmt":"2017-04-27T16:30:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/internationalpartnerships-news\/?p=624"},"modified":"2017-04-28T10:29:28","modified_gmt":"2017-04-28T09:29:28","slug":"kent-renews-dual-award-agreement-with-hong-kong-baptist-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/internationalpartnerships-news\/2017\/04\/27\/kent-renews-dual-award-agreement-with-hong-kong-baptist-university\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent renews dual award agreement with Hong Kong Baptist University"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Kent is delighted to mark the renewal of our dual award agreement with\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hkbu.edu.hk\/eng\/main\/index.jsp\">Hong Kong Baptist University<\/a>\u00a0(HKBU).<\/p>\n<p>The Dual Award agreement\u00a0was formally signed today (27 April 2017) at the HKBU campus by Kent&#8217;s Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/ovc\/people\/egbiographies\/deputyvicechancellor_e.html\">April McMahon<\/a>, and HKBU&#8217;s President and Vice-Chancellor, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hkbu.edu.hk\/eng\/about\/administrative.jsp\">Prof Roland T Chin<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The renewed agreement covers the MSc Operational Research &amp; Business Statistics\/Business Analytics, which is part delivered via flying faculty (Kent staff travel out to Hong Kong) and the MSc Mathematical Finance\/Finance (Financial Markets) in which students complete the first part of the dual programme at Kent before transferring to HKBU for the second part. During 2016\/17 alone, the University has over 55 students are undertaking these modules.<br \/>\nProfessor Martin Meyer, Director, Kent Business School commented \u2018We are delighted to have renewed this agreement. It will allow us to deepen and extend our already successful collaboration with HKBU. This partnership is testament to the strong, international positioning of our School.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Kent has a longstanding relationship with HKBU covering a number different facets, including collaborative provision; joint research; and staff and student mobility. Kent is delighted to continue\u00a0developing its partnership with HKBU, an institution consistently at the cutting-edge of the sciences and highly regarded for its commitment to the humanities and arts.
