The date marks the anniversary of the historical Schuman declaration, which is now celebrated as a key moment in the creation of the EU.<\/p>\n<p>As the UK&#8217;s European university, Kent is committed to the opportunities provided by European and international engagement. To mark <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/european\/europeday.html\">Europe Day<\/a> and to celebrate the University\u2019s role within Europe, various exciting activities have been planned to which everyone is welcome.<\/p>\n<p>A range of activities are available during the day including a Student European Societies Showcase, opportunity to learn and play the game of P\u00e9tanque and a European Opportunities Fair. The day will also include a set of special talks and presentations from the Dean for Internationalisation, Erasmus students and staff, as well as the opening of the new &#8216;We are European&#8217; exhibition that will feature a series of paintings from Kent Alumnus Eric Kaiser and two guest fellow-artists, Sophie Guinzbourg and Lysa Bertholom (Keynes Atrium), as well as the all the shortlisted entries of the \u2018We are European\u2019 competition.<\/p>\n<p>We look forward to celebrating the day with students, staff and members of the community.
