{"id":300,"date":"2016-11-14T11:02:09","date_gmt":"2016-11-14T11:02:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/internationalpartnerships-news\/?p=300"},"modified":"2016-11-14T12:49:01","modified_gmt":"2016-11-14T12:49:01","slug":"global-research-opportunities-workshop-grow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/internationalpartnerships-news\/2016\/11\/14\/global-research-opportunities-workshop-grow\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Research Opportunities Workshop (GROW)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Information session on funded collaboration opportunities with Developing or ODA recipient Countries, November 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On 24 November <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/researchservices\/\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">Research Services<span class=\"forPrint\"><sup><span style=\"font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/u><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/global\/partnerships\/\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">International Partnerships<span class=\"forPrint\"><sup><span style=\"font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/u><\/a> are planning to run an informal Global Research Opportunities Workshop (GROW) to support colleagues who are planning to apply for funding to work with Developing (or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oecd.org\/dac\/stats\/documentupload\/DAC%20List%20of%20ODA%20Recipients%202014%20final.pdf\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">ODA Recipient <\/span><\/u><\/a>) countries.<\/p>\n<p>The event follows on from the information days that we held on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/events\/grow\/index.html\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">the Newton Fund <\/span><\/u><\/a>and the <a href=\"http:\/\/fundermental.blogspot.co.uk\/2016\/07\/global-challenges-research-fund-primer.html\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">Global Challenges Research Fund <\/span><\/u><\/a>, but will be an opportunity to discuss your plans with award holders, current applicants and colleagues with considerable experience of working with ODA countries. The workshop also coincides with a visit by five colleagues from Malaysian universities and Ministry of Higher Education, and we are also hoping to host representatives of Universities UK and the Research Councils (TBC).<\/p>\n<p>The workshop will run from 10:00-13:30. It is free and open to all, and will include coffee, tea and lunch.
