The aims of the initiatives are to increase awareness of the many\u00a0study and work abroad opportunities available, to enhance the\u00a0support for students and staff\u00a0taking part in mobility, and to\u00a0develop\u00a0virtual mobility opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/goabroad\/fortnight.html\"><strong>Go Abroad Fortnight<\/strong> <\/a><\/p>\n<p>We launched our first\u00a0successful Go Abroad Fortnight this October, a comprehensive two- week series of events. Over 300 students and staff got involved in the events and are now engaging in the various ongoing activities throughout the term.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8216;Language and Culture&#8217;\u00a0exchange sessions &#8211; Spanish &amp; Italian, French &amp; German, Japanese &amp; Mandarin<\/li>\n<li>Talking Cultures Workshop &#8211; developing and reflecting on the intercultural skills needed during and after time abroad<\/li>\n<li>Summer Schools Talk &#8211; learning about the various summer school opportunities at Kent, and at our partner universities<\/li>\n<li>Drop-in sessions &#8211; with Kent&#8217;s Go Abroad team<\/li>\n<li>Study Abroad Networking Evening &#8211; with past, present and future study\/work abroad students from Kent and our partner universities<\/li>\n<li>Erasmus Staff Mobility Talk &#8211; opportunities for staff to take part in mobility<\/li>\n<li>Social media and blogging workshop &#8211; documenting your time abroad<\/li>\n<li>Working abroad &#8211; where do I start?<\/li>\n<li>Cultural differences in a business context &#8211; interactive session highlighting ways in which cultures differ and how these affect communication, management, negotiations and marketing.<\/li>\n<li>Returning from a year abroad : Employability Workshop &#8211; interactive session to help identify and demonstrate the skills and attributes gained from time abroad<\/li>\n<li>Subject-specific year abroad\u00a0talks<\/li>\n<li>Work and Study Abroad Fair<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/goabroad\/boardingpass.html\">Go Abroad Boarding Pass<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Go Abroad Boarding Pass has been designed to help Kent students through the term \/ year abroad application process. The Boarding Pass is essentially a checklist of things\u00a0that students\u00a0need to consider, research and complete before they go abroad.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/studyplus\/courses\/coursesSkillsEmploy.html\">Global Online Learning (GLO)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GLO introduces students to cross-cultural learning via the Internet and other technology. It complements other overseas study options and gives\u00a0students a chance to communicate and study online with students at Hong Kong Baptist University. We are very much looking forward to the launch of this exciting project, which will focus on migration.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/global\/passport\/\">Kent Global Passport <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/myfolio.kent.ac.uk\/myfolio\/artefact\/globalpassport\/\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc\"> Kent Global Passport<span class=\"forPrint\"><sup><span style=\"font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/sup><\/span><\/span><\/u><\/a> (KGP) is a free online app which has been designed to help\u00a0students highlight\u00a0their international skills and experience.
