{"id":1618,"date":"2021-03-19T10:17:37","date_gmt":"2021-03-19T10:17:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/internationalpartnerships-news\/?p=1618"},"modified":"2021-03-19T10:17:37","modified_gmt":"2021-03-19T10:17:37","slug":"turing-global-mobility-scheme-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/internationalpartnerships-news\/2021\/03\/19\/turing-global-mobility-scheme-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"Turing Global Mobility Scheme Launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.turing-scheme.org.uk\/\">Turing Scheme<\/a>\u00a0is the UK government\u2019s scheme to provide funding\u00a0for\u202finternational opportunities in education and training\u00a0across\u00a0the world. It supports Global Britain by providing an opportunity for UK organisations from the higher education,\u202ffurther education,\u202fvocational education and training and schools sectors to offer their students,\u202flearners\u00a0and pupils\u202flife-changing experiences to study or work abroad.<\/p>\n<p>Launched earlier this year, following the UK\u2019s departure from the EU, the Turing scheme is a replacement for the UK\u2019s participation in the EU Erasmus Programme, which will cease as current Erasmus projects reach an end, by May 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The Turing Scheme will provide grants for students from UK institutions to study or work abroad for periods of four weeks to 12 months, starting in September 2021. There is a focus on widening access with additional funding for less advantaged students.<\/p>\n<p>Applications from UK institutions to the Turing Scheme are now open and International Partnerships is leading Kent\u2019s submission, in consultation with Divisions and other relevant parties across the University.<\/p>\n<p>Subject to the outcome of our application and the levels of funding available, Kent students due to carry out an international study or work placement in 2021-22, who are not already covered by the Erasmus funding we have secured until 31 May 2023, will be supported by the Turing Scheme.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, we hope to provide funding to encourage other Kent students to participate in shorter-term international placements (eg summer schools).<\/p>\n<p>We will be working closely with colleagues in academic schools to provide more information about the opportunities available to students and further details of how the scheme will be implemented.<\/p>\n<p>For more details, please contact\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:internationalpartnerships@kent.ac.uk\">internationalpartnerships@kent.ac.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Or visit the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.turing-scheme.org.uk\/\">Turing website<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Turing Scheme\u00a0is the UK government\u2019s scheme to provide funding\u00a0for\u202finternational opportunities in education and training\u00a0across\u00a0the world.
