{"id":1158,"date":"2018-11-09T15:20:25","date_gmt":"2018-11-09T15:20:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/internationalpartnerships-news\/?p=1158"},"modified":"2018-11-09T15:21:20","modified_gmt":"2018-11-09T15:21:20","slug":"long-standing-partner-philipps-universitat-marburg-visits-kent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/internationalpartnerships-news\/2018\/11\/09\/long-standing-partner-philipps-universitat-marburg-visits-kent\/","title":{"rendered":"Long-standing partner Philipps-Universit\u00e4t Marburg visits Kent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: medium\">On 29-30 October 2018 the University of Kent had the pleasure of receiving a delegation from Philipps-Universit\u00e4t Marburg, Germany, one of our longest-standing partners with whom we are involved in a range of collaborative activities across a number of academic schools.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: medium\">The delegation, led by Marburg\u2019s Vice President Professor Michael B\u00f6lker, was hosted by Professor Jeremy Carrette, Dean for Europe, and met with Kent staff from the Graduate School, Research Services, International Partnerships and the Schools of Biosciences, Economics, European Culture and Languages, Politics and International Relations, Psychology, and Kent Law School.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: medium\">Kent and Marburg have enjoyed a partnership dating back over 30 years and over recent years have strengthened and deepened their ties via annual meetings (alternating between Marburg and Kent) following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in 2009.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: medium\">The fruits of this partnership include a joint MA in Peace and Conflict Studies, a range of staff and student exchanges, and research collaboration.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: medium\">This latest meeting allowed colleagues to explore possibilities for further cooperation and signalled Kent\u2019s commitment to our close ties with our European partners, particularly in the post-Brexit era.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: medium\">For more information about this and other international partnerships please contact <a href=\"mailto:internationalpartnerships@kent.ac.uk\">International Partnerships.<\/a> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 29-30 October 2018 the University of Kent had the pleasure of receiving a delegation from Philipps-Universit\u00e4t Marburg, Germany, one of our longest-standing partners with &hellip;
