Kent hosts Thai nursing and public health delegation

Kent recently hosted a delegation formed of Thai nursing and public health colleges as part of a leadership development programme supported by the Ministry of Public Health in Thailand.

Kent’s Vice Chancellor Professor Karen Cox delivered a presentation to directors and senior registered nurses from four colleges in Thailand. The training visit to the UK is part of the Thai Government’s drive to develop leadership capacity in medical and health-related professions.

The group was keen to hear about Kent’s expertise in the area of health and medical studies and colleagues from Kent’s Centre for Health Services Studies and the new Kent and Medway Medical School shared information on the range of activities in which they are involved.

Professor Colin Robinson from the School of Biosciences spoke about the work undertaken as part of a Global Challenge Research Fund project on biopharmaceuticals and animal vaccines for which he is Lead Principal Investigator.

Kent has well-established links with Thailand in partnership and recruitment capacity. For more information about the University’s International Partnerships, please see here.
