SGroup Summer School in China

Thanks to Kent’s membership of the SGroup European Universities Network, Kent student, Michael Yu took part in a summer school in China hosted by the Shanghai International Studies University, an associate member of the SGroup.

The summer school, which took place in August 2019, involved students from across the SGroup’s member institutions.

The programme included classes highlighting specific elements of history, geography, culture, law, politics, business and society in China and was designed to give students a flavour of studying in China.

As well as the academic content, the Summer School gave participating students the opportunity to take part in a number of cultural and social activities including tea ceremonies and excursions to Hanghzou, Beijing, and the Great Wall.

Michael who has just completed a BA (Hons) degree in sociology had a great time and has decided to pursue further studies in China.
