Kent staff eligible to apply for funding to support partnership development activities in China and Colombia

Thanks to Kent’s membership of the SGroup European Universities Network, Kent staff are eligible to apply for funding to support partnership development activities in China and Colombia.

The InterContinental Academic Exchange Programme (ICon) was created by the SGroup Network with the following objectives:

  • To facilitate collaboration in research and education between SGroup members and Latin America and China;
  • To encourage development of joint projects that can form bids to EU and other relevant funding programmes;
  • To promote development of collaborative  programmes such as co-tutelles and dual awards

The current call under ICon is open for bids for short visits from academic and professional services staff at SGroup member institutions to institutions in China and Colombia.

The duration of the mobility should be from 7 days to 1 month.

In 2019, 14 bursaries (7 for Colombia and 7 for China) of €1000 each will be awarded across the SGroup network.

Each SGroup member institution is able to put forward one application to the ICon programme. The decision on which application will be submitted by Kent to the ICon programme assessors will be made on the strength of the application in relation to the ICon programme’s objectives and relevance to University and School strategy.

If you are interested in submitting an application for funding, please contact Primrose Paskins (P.M.A.Paskins@kent.ac.uk) in International Partnerships by 31st May 2019.
