Go Abroad team awarded Barbara Morris Prize

International Partnerships’ Go Abroad team have been officially announced among this year’s winners of the Barbara Morris Prize for Learning Support.

The University of Kent celebrates excellent teaching and learning support with a series of University Teaching Prizes awarded annually. The Barbara Morris Prize is awarded for outstanding work in the area of learning support.

Emma Marku, Jan Lowe, Janet Wilson-Sharp; Francoise McKee; Brechje Klok-White; Hazel Lander; Sophie Baker and Sammy-Jo Foster (Go Abroad team 2016/17) were recognized for internationalising students experiences through Study Abroad as part of their degree; an outstanding achievement based on tremendous effort and collaborative teamwork.

The selection panel were particularly impressed by the moodle courses, which offered students and staff a structured, reflective framework for preparing for time abroad.  More generally, the attention given to supporting individuals, both outgoing and incoming students, is impressive and is borne out in the satisfaction ratings and accolades.

The prizes will be presented by the Vice-Chancellor at a lunchtime ceremony on Wednesday 4th October 2017 in Darwin Conference Suite.
